• I just wonder what happened to us?  We fell in love, dated for quite a long while, and he was ready to get married, but I was a little hesitant.  I made him wait a little while longer but soon, I was ready.  He was very good to me, and we seemed to get along rather well. We did eventually have a child together and she was the loving joy of our life. I had other children and he seemed to accept them alright, but our baby was his pride. I guess somewhere along the line, perhaps about three or four years after she was born, he must have started losing interest.  Things changed and I didn’t even notice the changes right away.  He was self employed so his jobs were at all different hours, but things started picking up and he worked more.  He always brought his checks home and faithfully attached them to the refrigerator so I could deposit them.  He then started working so much that he wasn’t home like he used to be.  I felt like that was okay, he was a work-aholic anyways, so I still didn’t see anything different.  One of my older children happened to mention one day that he had “loads” of money in his work truck.  I thought it must have been money from customers. I never pried or asked any questions, maybe I should have.  As time went on, I started noticing how he would come in during the middle of the day and taking a shower and dressing more. My parents even noticed, but me, I guess I just trusted him so much that I never gave it a second thought when he told me that he was going to get an estimate. The signs of infidelity started showing, but I just didn’t see them.  Here are some of those signs.
•  working later than normal, getting more and more as time goes on
• taking more attention to their dress and what they wear
• change of grooming habits, wanting to look nicer
• paying less attention to spouse, family
• hiding money or being secretive about what they’ve spent their money on
• getting many hang up phone calls and then him leaving afterwards
• they are wanting to go out with friends more than before, spending less family time
