Where was the proof, that he was actually cheating on me?  I believe that it took me too long to admit to myself that he really was with another woman. Day after day went by that I questioned myself if I was right, or was it a figment of my imagination. I saw the hang up calls on his cell phone.  When I confronted him about the hang ups, of course, he had an answer. He told me that he didn’t have a clue as to who was hanging up.  He explained it all away by saying it was just a wrong number or maybe someone calling about a job but changed their mind. What about the extra unaccounted for time that he spent?  That was just a harder job that needed more time, or supplies had to be picked up, he said.  Once her calls started coming more and more and she was getting brave enough to leave him a message, I thought he couldn’t get past that one.  Oh, but he did. He managed to tell me that she must have been a crazy customer of his who he didn’t like talking to. As much as this was staring me right smack dab in the face, I still did not want to admit it. I wanted to believe his every word. I know it sounds funny, but I honestly wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.  I never saw this other woman  and him together, so I felt  since I didn’t catch him with her, she didn’t exist……..but boy did she ever!!
